This is a love story of me and my Tinkerbell, a free flying Congo African Grey parrot CAG , as we roamed about the mountains and forests and cities of Taiwan. She loves to go riding with me on the motorbike as she sit on a perch on the handle bar.

Full details of that and more are in that webpage, together with URLs to the relevant Webshots folders of hundreds of photos. Without those photos, what I wrote will never be believed

As with all love story, it is happy and sad.

Warmest regards

Shanlung

Now I have my African Gray(2 years old) and I am in love with her.

As I remember, your last news, Tinkerbell was transfer to the Zoo.

How is he(she) now?...I hope it will be the happy ending story.

Hello my friends,

I am happy to be here.

I am sorry I can only write in English.

Mr Goodpie,

Tinkerbell is in Taiwan and looked after by my friend.  Every year I will fly back to Taiwan to be with her.

Shama Yingshiong was given to the Jurong Bird Park in May 2006.  When I went back to see Yingshiong one year later in Jurong Bird Park, Yingshiong remembered me.  You can read that in

Part 6 - Yingshiong & Tinkerbell - A good closure April 2008
http://shanlung.livejournal.com/2008/04/

I will be honored if you can translate what I have written here or the articles I wrote in the website for your members here.  Bird clubs in Russia, Spain, and non English speaking countries have translated what I said into their language.

Shama Yingshiong was caught from the jungle when he was 3 years old.

I kept a diary, on a day by day, that showed the training so that he accept me as a friend.

The most important part is that I treated him with respect and dignity due to a sentient being and I accepted that he is my equal.

What I have done can also be done by you.  You will find I have no secrets.

Here are some videos.

If I can do that with a shama, please consider trying that with your birds.

Hi...Mr.Shanlung

Sorry in confused between Shama Yingshiong and Tinkerbel. I am glade to here that Tinkerbel is in a good care of your friend.  I think the best place for the human feed parrot is in human home. The one who love and care of her not the Zoo.

The story of Shama Yingshiong and your diary "I kept a diary, on a day by day, that showed the training so that he accept me as a friend" is very interesting. I will fallow the web and read it when I am not this busy.

I was own my lovely love bird; she was much closed to me. In my house she will fly to me every time I called her. One day, the door was open by accidental, she flow out. She sits on the big tree and look at me then she fly away and never came back to our house. May be your diary can give me the answer why.

I am agree with you for the translate all the story in Thai. But my English is not that good.  I hope OUR WEB MASTER (please..) or My uncle C.TAN will help in translating for us.

Goodpie and friends,

I am now writing from Muscat, Oman.  I was busy for a while and had not the time to write.

Goodpie, getting your love bird to fly to you is only one step in the beginning.  There are many more steps before you can take or allow your bird outside.

If you have the time to read what I have written, you will see also that both Tinkerbell and Yingshiong were taught to fly to different places that I named.

A very important step will also be hide & seek recall.  From different rooms where your bird cannot see you, you must call to them and they will fly and look for you and come to you.

You then must take the bird to a much bigger place than just your home.  In a big big place such as a closed gymnasium so the bird get used to much bigger area.

All those details are in Tinkerbell webpage.

Even so, taking a well trained bird outside ALWAYS will have an element of risk involved.  Accidents can happen.  A sound may frighten them so much that they fly away.  A hawk may attack them.

So before you take a bird outside, you must know your bird very well and can recognise how the bird feel.

And be prepared for the worse.

Warmest regards

Goguy,

I came into this site with respect and had not offer insult to you or anyone else.

Have I said anything that offended you that you so deliberately want to be rude  to me?

Make clear what you are trying to say to me.

For my other friends here that might wish to know more of what I have done, there is an update in my livejournal.

Catching up in Muscat and Riamfada might fly with me

Dear shanlung;

I'm so glad to read again your updates concerning your beloved birds.  Please visit us often.

=======================
Please read my following message very carefully.

Referring to Goguy's message, assuredly speaking, please disregard/ignore it because he did not say anything to you inappropriately; or he did not really mean anything bad to you.  His English writing ability might mislead you in some ways.  He has tried his best to express his thoughts in words, however, many words written have confused you (and me, too).   Please do not take this tiny mishap into consideration and do not let it bother you, OK?

Good day and be prosper!!!
